Cavex Bids raise by £500,000 as bid to offer ratio hits 1:1

Since Cavex’s last update, activity on the platform has been moving at a rapid rate. Buyers are out in force with £500,000 of new bids placed, taking current live bids up to £1.85 million.

This increased activity has led the bid to offer ratio hitting 1:1 in terms of value for the first time since Cavex launched. Total livepositions amount to £3.74 million, an increase of 7.7% from the previous update, cementing our continued growth into 2014.

Trading over the past seven days has again been varied between Bordeaux, Burgundy, Italy and the Rhone all trading well. Bordeaux First Growths are in strong demand with the majority of new bidders seeking these wines. Notable trades over the period have been: Lafite 2005 at £6650; Latour 2003 at £6650; Margaux 2005 at £5000 and Mouton 2000 at £9680. Followers of Mouton 2008 may be keen to see if it has finally found a new level at £3000 with a number of trades matching recently at this price.

This week has also seen a great parcel of Domaine Romanee Conti 2010 trade through the platform with new pricing levels for these wines being set. You can view the results via the usual latest trades link below.

Buyers are presently also looking for parcels of: Angelus; Carruades; Ducru Beaucaillou; Gruaud Larose; Leoville Barton; Leoville Las Cases; Lynch Bages; Palmer; Pavie; Pichon Lalande; Pontet Canet and Talbot across multiple vintages so if you do have anything to offer for sale, please do take a look at the latest bids on the attached Bids & Offer lists. There are plenty of attractive trading opportunities to be had.

Aside from the Hot Offers, there have been some interesting wines added for sale this week. A great parcel of Felton Road wines from 2010 and 2011; Donhoff 2009’s and good quantities of Bordeaux 2008 across the board  as well as some Dom Perignon Rose 2002 at the lowest UK price.
