Chateau Palmer 2014 & Alter Ego Released

Back to the left Bank this afternoon as we see the release of Chateau Palmer and its second wine Alter Ego. With prices rising steadily over the past few years this was a wine that was always unlikely to offer a huge reduction in price for the 2014 vintage.

The Grand Vin released at a Negoce price of €160 per bottle up 6.7% from the 2013, but equal to the 2012 release which translates to an ex London price of £1500 per dozen. With cheaper and similar scored vintages such as the 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008 at £300 for physical stock this may well be over looked.

Alter Ego has been offered at €38.50 per bottle, up 7% on the 2013 and 2.7% on the 2012 with a London price of £370 per dozen. This does make it the cheapest vintage on the market, but very close to the 2011 and 2012 physically available.
