Positive trading all week as Cavex features in the Financial Times

Cavex witnessed another positive week with the majority of trades increasing in value since their last traded price. While buyers continue to place strong bids for classed growth Bordeaux, interest in DRC has ignited again. No doubt pleasing news for all in the market place.

Bid value during the week grew slightly to £3.9 million bringing the bid to offer ratio to an all time high of 1.99:1 but the week also saw a small drop in total offer value of 2.7%. This was mostly due to the volume of trading with the majority of all new stocks offered being rapidly matched as soon as positions were placed.

Notable trades were biggest climber Pavie 2004, up 8.1% since January at £1,600, closely followed by more recent top risers Mouton Rothschild 2007, up 7.9% trading at £2,730 and Beychevelle 2009, up 7.7% to £560 since early August. We’ve also seen Cheval Blanc 2005, Duhart Milon and Lynch Bages climb solidly across multiple vintages. Chateau Latour has been the subject of some strong bidding activity with 2002 gaining 1.2% since late August. However their second wine Forts de Latour, continues a struggle to attract buyers with the 2005 falling a further 3.7% and trading at £1,300.

The week’s Hot Offers see some great wines waiting to be matched. All are keenly priced with perfect provenance, purchased direct from primary source and stored with well known UK merchants looking for secondary market buyers. Wines such as Bonnes Mares Comte de Vogue 2008 at £2,000 per 12, Dominus 2007 at £600 per 6, L’Eglise Clinet 2006 at £1,300 and bottles and magnums of Salon Mesnil 1999 £380 per Magnum at £960 per 6 x 75. There are wines with even bigger mark downs such as Langoa Barton 2005 at £330 per 12 and Pape Clement 2005 at £970 per 12.

Following last week’s welcome mention in the Sunday Telegraph, we’re delighted to share that Cavex has once again appeared in a broadsheet courtesy of John Stimpfig. This time Cavex features in a more prominent piece regarding the new world of online wine trading platforms as part Friday’s Financial Times ‘How to Spend It Magazine’. As the first truly universal wine trading exchange, not only is Cavex on the right track for solid future growth, but thanks to such complimentary quotes as seen in the article, we’re proud to know that we’ve been helping so many of our members achieve a better financial return when selling their wines to a worldwide audience.  Please do read the full article here.
